keeping warm

desperate times call for desperate measures in below zero temps

it's only a matter of time...

before we're going to Jack's very own pinewood derby

I'm serving with the cub scouts at church and we had the pinewood derby last week. I thought it would be fun for Jack to come watch, so Steve brought him over.
Sure enough, he loved it. He sat on the side of the track intently watching every race and observing the boy's reactions as their cars crossed the finish line.

It made me smile and even brought tears to my eyes (shocking, I know) just watching him and how excited he was. I know we have a good 6 years before we even have to start thinking about him starting Cub Scouts, but it made me realize that these years are going to fly by and it won't be long before he and Steve are designing and cutting out his very own car and we're sitting in the audience cheering it on as it races down the tracks.

But until then, I'll enjoy my little boy who dreams of being like the big boys.

first's

Sydney had her first taste of food (if you consider rice cereal real food) a couple weeks ago.

At first she was a little reluctant

but then she couldn't get enough!

And of course her big brother was right by her side every step of the way

It's hard to believe she's old enough to start solids.

Stay tuned, her 6 month appointment is this week. CrAzY!!

rolling over...

sure is hard work!!

(5 months)

the big 3-0

Steve turned 30 last week.

He started the day with breakfast in bed

And finished the day with homemade strawberry shortcake

Who could ask for anything more?

We love you Steve and we're so thankful for all you do for us!

Here's one of the babe... just for fun.

Snow Day

We've had a really mild snow season. It's been nice to ease us into the cold weather here. I know I've probably just jinxed myself, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we won't have snow into June to make up for it.

With that said, we got a pretty decent snowstorm a few weeks ago. Steve was in Utah for his Grandmother's funeral, so it was just me and the kids. It was so cold, that we didn't venture out too much, but when we did, we had a great time.

We can't wait for more snow to play in.
