park day...

The weather has been really nice the last couple weekends. (We even hit 65 on Saturday!!)
We've been taking a lot more walks and the other day we walked to the park to let Jack play a little bit and let Sydney try out the swing for the first time.

Jack took his place at the slide.
Sliding down, then racing to the top to do it all over again.

Sydney relaxed in the swing. She loved it and probably could have sat there all day taking everything in.

Daddy and his...

little helper:

Jack loves to come out with us to "sweep" while we shovel the snow.
He's a great helper and loves to clean, whether it's snow or dirt.

little copycat:

Steve was working on his computer so Jack HAD to go get his too. I don't know if you can tell but he's also on his phone, "just like daddy".

6 months, already?!?!?

It's hard to believe our sweet girl is 6 months already!

Her Stats at 6 months:

Length: 27 inches (90%)
Weight: 13 lbs 15 oz (13%)

She is getting so big and discovering more things everyday.
She's such a happy baby - she smiles and laughs ALL the time! And really only fusses when she's hungry or needs a diaper change. There's no one that can get her laughing quite as much as her big brother can. They just adore each other and are so cute together.
She's so aware of her surroundings and grabs at anything within her reach. And if it's too far, she'll do all that she can to get her hands on it.
She's rolling over both ways. And she's sitting up really well, she's even starting to push herself up a little.
She actually has her first tooth starting to poke through. Seriously, is she really old enough to be getting teeth?? Crazy!!

I'm always excited for her to reach those developmental milestones, and start doing something new. But I still don't want her to grow SO fast!

Sydney, pLeAsE slow down, and stop growing so fast!

Here are a few pictures of the last couple months.

We love you baby girl!!

it's only a matter of time...

before we're going to Jack's very own pinewood derby

I'm serving with the cub scouts at church and we had the pinewood derby last week. I thought it would be fun for Jack to come watch, so Steve brought him over.
Sure enough, he loved it. He sat on the side of the track intently watching every race and observing the boy's reactions as their cars crossed the finish line.

It made me smile and even brought tears to my eyes (shocking, I know) just watching him and how excited he was. I know we have a good 6 years before we even have to start thinking about him starting Cub Scouts, but it made me realize that these years are going to fly by and it won't be long before he and Steve are designing and cutting out his very own car and we're sitting in the audience cheering it on as it races down the tracks.

But until then, I'll enjoy my little boy who dreams of being like the big boys.
