Florida cousins!!
Jack and I took a quick little trip down to Florida for my dad's wedding last week. We were able to stay with my sister Adrienne and her family. We're glad we have the opportunity to live closer to them and see them a little more while we're living in the south for school.

Auntie Court comes for a visit!!
While we were home in California our good friend, more like a little sister I never had, came up for a visit. We were so glad she was able to come play with us for a little bit!

the BIG #1..
Uncle Finn and aunt Jennifer got a bounce house for the big event, and it was a big hit with all the kids, as always. Thanks for helping to make the party so much fun!
First came the cake!!
Although jack was still adjusting to the time change, and was super tired,
he was a good sport and LOVED his cake!
notice the handful of frosting!
he just kept going and going.
(check out those paw prints)
Then came the presents!!
Instead of breakfast in bed on his actual day, Jack got breakfast in his highchair.
But he loved it just the same!
Kate, Sam, Abby and Bailey
Words cannot express how much we LOVE this boy! We can't believe how fast the last year has flown by and we look forward to many birthdays to come!
We love you Jack, and can't imagine our lives without you in them!!
trick or treat!!
We took a quick trip home to California last week. Steve had a conference for school in San Fransisco, so Jack and I decided to tag along. We went out a few days earlier and we were able to celebrate Halloween as well as Jack's 1ST birthday with our families! It was SO much fun!
Here are a few pictures from Halloween!
jack is right in front of steve, so you can't see him very well, but I love the "at the door" pictures

a new trick
Our day started as it normally does with jack's daily routine:
- wake up, check
- drink a bottle, check
- play for a while, check
- eat breakfast, check
- take a bath, check
- get dressed, check
- go down for a nap, check
At least that's what I thought until jack was fussing more than usual. He didn't seem to be able to get comfortable. I figured he had just thrown his pacifiers out (which he does quite often). So I went in thinking I was just going to give him back his pacis. When I walked in, both the pacis were on the floor, as I thought, but as I looked in the crib i found this...
I had dressed jack in a new outfit that I had been dying to put him in since we received it as a gift from some of our favorite people. It's still a little big, and so he was able to pull it off. He'll still wear it, and I'll continue to put it on him when he wakes up from his naps.
nothing like a rainy day in the park
We got together at the park a couple weeks ago to celebrate the first birthday of jack's friend Gus.
It had been raining pretty much all week, but luckily it let up a little just in time for the party so the kids were able to run around and play. We were so glad we could help him celebrate his big birthday! It's been so fun to watch all these kids grow up together.

picnic at the lake
There's a lake not far from our house with a short path along it's shore. Along that path are a series of docks with benches and swings. We decided to take our picnic there. We stopped by one of our favorite sandwich shops and headed over. We had a nice peaceful evening watching the sun set over the lake.

first friday parade
There's a tradition here in Clemson of kicking off the football season with a parade the Friday night before the first game. I can't believe that it has already been a year since my post about "the first Friday parade" last year. While a lot of it was the same, one thing was VERY different, I wasn't pregnant and sweet little Jack was able to enjoy the parade with us. It was fun to watch his reaction to all the festivities. He was just taking it all in.
We were able to meet up with some of our friends and enjoy the parade together.

we're all set for football season
We received a package today. Among the many great things that the box held was a special quilt. Made especially for us by the hands of Mama Lori J (one of the women I call mom) and our two nieces, Abby and Kate.
Needless to say, we love it! We can't wait to take it to the stadium, wrap up in it while we watch games from home, and keep it as a memory of our time here at Clemson.
Thank you for thinking of us!
**if you enlarge the photos you'll see that the quilt is made of purple and orange Clemson fabric. Nice to know they support our team in California as well as here!**
a new favorite
Steve's sister Becky and her family were so nice to send Jack a toy phone to let him know that they were thinking of him during his surgery a few weeks ago. The phone has quickly become a new favorite around the house, and it's a very hot commodity when Jack's friend Gus is over. They are both very protective of that phone!
Thanks Bailey family! We love it!
p.s. don't mind the bed head. he had just woken up from his nap.

this little guy...
is getting tubes on Thursday...

Poor little guy has had about 4 ear infections in the last 6 months or so. He has a lot of fluid built up in his middle ear that isn't going away and the only way to get rid of it is with tubes. We're nervous, but also excited to have something that will help him to feel better. Hopefully this will do the trick.
(sorry for the quality of the picture, I took it with my phone)

9 months...
Jack is 9 months today! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by! He is getting so big and discovering something new everyday. It's so fun to watch him accomplish these things! We are so lucky to have this sweet, always happy, baby boy in our lives! We wouldn't believe that we could love him any more than we already do, but surprisingly that love grows each and every day we see that smile and those gorgeous eyes!!
Here are some things about the babe as he turns 9 months:
- weight: 19 lbs 2 oz
- height: 30 in
- teeth: 4 ; two on the bottom, two on the top, and 2 more on top cutting through as we speak
- becoming a daddy's boy
- loves books, looking at the pictures and being read to
- claps, waves and babbles all the time
- loves to eat... i don't think there's a food he's tried that he doesn't like.
- holds his own bottle and drinks from a sippie cup
- climbs on and walks around everything
- content playing by himself (for a little while at least)
- into EVERYTHING! his favorites... cords, remotes and any book he's not supposed to play with (we're still working on jack proofing the house)
- loves baby einstein, handy manny, and mickey's clubhouse (don't worry, he doesn't watch them too often)
- his kisses
- his cuddles
- and his forever smiles
I walked into the other room for a minute the other day and when I came back this is what I found...
