Trythall Reunion 2011

We spent a week in Breckenridge, CO for the Trythall family reunion. It was so fun to have everyone together. Jack loved spending time with his cousins that he doesn't get to see very often and it was the first time most of the family was able to meet Sydney.

The truck and the kids all packed up and ready to head up the mountain.

Jack and Sydney enjoyed the luxuries of the hotel room.

We had a great time exploring main street Breckenridge with the family

One night we went to a chuck wagon dinner.
The kids could practice lassoing barrels of hay and play corn hole while we waited for dinner.

Papa Frank got picked to be apart of the entertainment at the dinner.
He had to keep a straight face while the other performers did things to throw him off.

One afternoon we took family pictures. It was a little crazy.
But what else would you expect when you try to coordinate 37 people?!

Jack insisted on pushing the button every time we went somewhere.
Oh, the joys of being 2!!

The hotel we stayed at had an awesome place to play.
With alpine slides, golf, a roller coaster and many more fun things to do.

Jack loved the golf

And Sydney was content hanging out in the stroller.

Each individual family was assigned one aspect of the reunion. Steve had been wanting to put together a "try'athlon" with different activities for the whole family to do. We spent a lot of time going back and forth to Breckenridge mapping out the different courses, getting prizes, and just putting it all together. Unfortunately, that was the activity that got canceled due to rain. We were pretty bummed, but there wasn't much we could do about it.
Here are the water bottles we made for the events.

It was sad to see the week come to an end and to have to say good-bye to everyone. And we can't wait for the next reunion!!

It's never too early to hop on a bike and go!

this is what happens...

when you think you're too old for naps:

You fall asleep in the Target shopping cart at 5:00 in the evening.

Little patriots

4th of July is one of my favorite holidays!
It always makes for good pictures, unfortunately I didn't get very many this year.

I did manage to get these two cute ones though...

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!!

lunch date

My niece plays on a club volleyball team in Sacramento. And her team is so awesome that they qualified for The Junior Olympics in Atlanta this year.

Lucky for us, on their way out they had a quick layover here in Denver. We knew it would be fast, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see her and my brother-in-law. So the kids and I picked up lunch and drove out to the airport to meet them.

We were SO glad we got to have a lunch date with them - even if it was for a mere 15 minutes!!

water lovers

Our city has fabulous Rec Centers with great pools. Luckily we live right down the street from one.

We ventured over there for the first time the other day to meet up with some friends. The kids loved playing and splashing in the water. And I had a great time visiting and soaking up the sun as I tried to keep my independent 2 year old from following the older kids farther into the water.

Sydney loved it!! It's a zero-depth pool, so we were able to sit at the edge and she could play in it all so wanted.

By the time we got home from our 2 minute drive, she was OUT!!

Let's just say she slept from 6pm-6am that night (which is so unlike her)

But I wasn't complaining.
