Sydney's Blessing

Sydney was given a name and a blessing on September 26. Steve gave her a beautiful blessing. Among the many wonderful things that were said, one that stands out to me is that she "will be a constant symbol of hope and faith to our family". This is especially true given the things we experienced as a family just weeks before her birth.

We were so happy to have some of our family and friends there to share in the special day.

(sydney is their 22nd grandchild)

we've enjoyed living closer to Steve's sister Becky and her family!
And we wish we were able to see them more often.

My mom brought out 2 of my nieces, Abby and Kate
We were so glad they could come!

It was a wonderful day!!
But we sure did miss all of our family and friends that couldn't make it!

Visitors

While my mom and Abby and Kate were here for Sydney's blessing. We were so glad they were able to come! The weekend was pretty crazy trying to everything ready for the big event on Sunday, but we tried to do a few fun things while they were here. The afternoon before they left we went down to Colorado Springs to see the Olympic training center and the Garden of the Gods.

Thanks for coming! We had a great time and we love you!

2 months!!

Little Sydney is 2 months already!!

Time sure is flying by and I know it's only going to start moving faster. But we're enjoying every minute we can.

2 month stats:
  • she weighs 9 lbs 9 oz
  • she's 22 in long
  • she sleeps for 8-9 hour stretches at night
  • she smiles all the time
  • she's very alert and starting to sleep a lot less during the day
  • and she loves to watch her very active big brother run around the house (even if he does rip her pacifier out of her mouth at least 3 times a day)
We love our baby girl, and although it's only been a short time since she joined our family,
we can't imagine life without her.

1 month

Sydney was 1 month on August 26th. I still can't believe how fast time goes.

I'm not quite sure how much she weighs at this point, but I do know she's gaining weight (which we're grateful for) and she's already changed so much.

Here are some pictures of the babe at 1 month.

Jack

As we all know, Jack is very curious and into everything. This is one of the many things that I've found after I've finished feeding the baby. He was so proud of himself as he pulled every bottle out of the pantry and lined it up on the counter all by himself.

Sydney got a gift in the mail the other day from My brother-in-laws mom, Auntie Lori. Along with the darling things she sent for Sydney, she send a little package for Jack so he wouldn't feel left out. He loved the soccer ball and puppy dog! And it was so nice of her to think of him!

My mom came out 2 weeks before sydney was born to help us get settled (she pretty much unpacked everything for us!!) and she stayed until a couple days after. Steve's mom came the day my mom left and stayed for a few days. It was great to see them and we were so thankful to have their help. And Jack loved spending time with them while they were here!

It's been a while...

So I know it's been a while since I've posted, but it's not that I'm not excited to share our sweet baby girl with everyone. It's more like I'm trying to get settled in our new home, learn my way around a new area, try to make some friends, keep Jack from attacking his little sister, oh and getting used to having 2 kids.

Even though things have been a little crazy around here are times, I wanted to take some time to share some pictures from the first few weeks with our adorable baby girl. We've loved every minute with her and can't imagine our lives without her.
